Homeland Security

The original MATTS system was produced for the Department of Homeland Security to provide secure communications and worldwide container tracking. MATTS has also been integrated to the Federal Railroad Administrations' Advanced Concept Train.

Defense Logistics

MATTS can be configured to extend the capabilities of RFID systems used for DOD supply-chain management. Other form factors include helmet-mounted tags for soldier visibility, unattended ground sensors for trip-wire and trajectory estimation, and perimeter security.

Transportation

Commercial transportation systems, including ship, rail, and truck, can utilize MATTS for real-time tracking and communications of alert conditions. The architecture is based upon a smart tag that automatically adapts to a variety of embedded and third party networks, to create an "on the go" dynamic infrastructure.

Solutions - Applications

The Mobile Asset Tag Tracking System utilizes "smart tag" technology and dynamic, adaptive, global communications to address a wide-range of monitoring and location needs for commercial and government applications.

Mobile Asset Visibility

iControl's original tagline "remote monitoring and control via the Internet" illustrates our experience with integration to a variety of sensors for monitoring and threshold reporting. Service technicians are able to prevent asset downtime and operations personnel can optimize deployment of assets to maximize revenue.

Real Time Location Systems

MATTS' onboard software provides a powerful combination of automation and remote control over state transitions, schedules, power management, and network assignments. This flexibility allows MATTS to be a very cost-effective RTLS. Tags utilize a combination of standalone GPS, differential GPS, and iControl's unique "augmented" location system to provide accurate location information with minimal infrastructure.

Ad-hoc Sensor Networks

Through MATTS open architecture, remote sensing becomes part of a dynamic network - both at the infield location, as well as at the data fusion center. Adding a MATTS tag provides communications, security, and position information to any sensor without the expense of proprietary interfaces. The MATTS Integration Kit (miKIT) allows sensor manufacturers a quick and easy way to MATTS-enable their devices. To learn more about the miKIT, click here.

Perimeter Security/Geofencing

The integrated system of tags, gateways, and webservers means MATTS can dynamically allocate functions between the server, when available, and the infield units if a high-bandwidth network option is not available or not affordable. One such function that is load shared between the iVIEW server and the iTAG is calculation of a virtual perimeter and tripwire notification.
