The iControl solution takes into consideration the disposition of your remote or mobile assets, and we configure your solution based upon:
- Topographical restrictions (hills, water, vast distances)
- Frequency of data collection (continuous or intermittent)
- Capital acquisition plan and budget
- Wired/wireless/satellite/cellular or PDA accessibility
iControl systems are autonomous and can be reconfigured even in the most remote locations, via satellite or other wireless communication devices. The hardware and software designs employ open architectures for easy integration of third party sensors, actuators, and software. iControl’s staff provides professional services in system engineering, design, development, and implementation of customized hardware and software.
Every application and network has unique characteristics which require the use of specific hardware to achieve the optimum solution. Frequency of data access and geographic barriers (vast open spaces, oceans, and mountains) can dictate the best method for network configuration and communication. For example – mobile assets cannot operate on a wired network. Satellite LAN links are appropriate to objects that travel vast distances, with the need for intermittent monitoring. For mobile assets in a relatively confined geographical area, PDAs or cell phones may be the most convenient and cost effective interface device. Fixed assets, as in a noisy manufacturing environment, are better suited to a wired LAN, for higher integrity of communication, without regard for RF or other interference. Each system is designed to the specifications and requirements of the customer, including options a combination of communications methods.
