Most energy production sites are located in very remote areas that cover vast distances. Regular and routine monitoring of remote sites has traditionally consisted of an inefficient process including driving from well to well on a scheduled basis and manually reporting one data point from a chart recorder. This data point is used to extrapolate what the production for the well will be over a period of time.

Wyoming based energy company,  Electric West, Inc. uses iControl's solution to automatically collect data every few minutes, upload it on a daily basis into enterprise software tools that automatically calculate each day's actual production. The data is supplied in parallel to all departments - engineering, services, finance, supply chain management. This provides more proactive site management. Service calls are now focused on preventive maintenance, significantly lower downtime, and an increase in overall production.
