About Us
iControl was founded in February 2000 by former executives, managers, and engineers from Integrated Systems, Octant Technologies, and Exodus Communications.
iControl employees have extensive backgrounds in control system design, software development, network engineering, telecommunications, and system integration.
The founders of iControl worked together at Integrated Systems Incorporated, now Wind River Systems, from 1989 to 1996. They developed custom solutions using ISI's MATRIXx graphical control design and software generation package.
In 1996, the team left ISI to form Octant Technologies and continued to improve upon a VME-based multiprocessor data acquisition and control unit used throughout the International Space Station program.
iControl spun-off from Octant in February 2000 and retained the intellectual property rights to the IDAC-VME product. iControl succeeded in extending the reach of iDAC-VME into remote data acquisition, distributed systems, and Internet monitoring.
iControl is headquartered in San Jose, California.
