iControl Announces SmartIO Micro to Utilize Z-World's CM7200 Module
(San Jose, CA – June
30, 2000) iControl, Inc., the leader in remote control and data acquisition
via the Internet, today announced that it has selected the CM7200 microprocessor
module for use in its SmartIO Micro product. The robust design of Z-World's
CM7200 extends the iControl solution to equipment operating in harsh environments.
SmartIO Micro is a ruggedized data acquisition and control unit that withstands
extreme operating conditions (temperature, humidity, vibration), while providing
customers with onboard processing and remote programmability. After extensive
research, iControl selected Z-World's CM7200 fully integrated microprocessor
module due to its low power package, battery-backed real-time clock, multitasking
kernel, watch dog timer, expandable I/O, and extended temperature operating
range.
iControl's President and CEO, E. Fred Tubb, stated, "SmartIO Micro units
are often located hundreds of miles away from power grids, service centers,
and customers' offices. Downtime is not an option. iControl believes Z-World
has an excellent understanding of the challenges presented by remote deployment
of computers in extreme environments. We are confident that the CM7200 module
fully meets our stringent requirements."
"We're pleased to be working with iControl and are excited that the CM7200
was what they had in mind when they began developing the SmartIO Micro product,"
said Carrie Maha, vice president sales and marketing for Z-World. "Our
products are ideal for OEM applications such as iControl’s SmartIO Micro to
deliver unique and highly anticipated solutions.”
