Homeland Security

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) produced the Marine Asset Tag Tracking System (MATTS) to provide secure communications and worldwide container tracking.

The Problem
Since September 11, 2001, national security has been more important than ever before. One major threat to this security is the potential that dangerous materials could enter the United States through our numerous shipping ports. With millions of cargo containers entering the United States everyday, it is imperative to know if the security of a container has been compromised before the ship reaches shore.
The Solution
iControl's system is equipped with sensors for monitoring container contents (iCHIME), tags for tracking container positions (iTAG), electronic padlocks that add external security to tracking (mLOCK), and gateways (iGATE) that transmit data from the cargo to the user interface (iVIEW). By implementing this integrated system, alert notifications are sent immediately, preventing dangerous material from reaching U.S. ports.

How Our Solution Helps You

  • Reveals the Unknowns: No more guessing. This system guarantees that arriving cargo is safe and secure
  • Saves Money: Implementing container security means less time and money spent on inspections, increasing productivity throughout the supply chain
  • Puts You in Control: Provides you with immediate notification of security breaches, allowing you to take control
